Chapter 6- Thomas
The X-Club wasnt a fancy rave bar. It was just a dingy opium den, really. It was the closest thing to a club in this town. Only, instead of opium they had all sorts of drugs. Oh, and they played music, too.
Thomas was sitting in the corner of the club. This corner is where Thomas had spent a good part of his life thus far. He was used to the crowd of low-lives encasing him.
Izzy sat on his immediate left. He was tying a bandana around his upper arm grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
Oh, come on, Izzy. This is stupid, said Dale opposite of Thomas. Dale was cool, but he always put his foot down when it came to heavy stuff.
Ive never done it. It could be fun, Izzy laughed. A girl, Harriet, passed him the needle.
Chill out, Dale. Izzys still young, ya know? Thomas said, taking a swallow from his drink.
Yeah, young for now, muttered Dale as he got up and pulled a female with him. Thomas watched with a sneer as the couple went to the dance floor.
Dont listen to him, assured Thomas, Just do it. Im next.
At 1:15 exactly, Thomas Carter was on the dance floor completely smacked. He was dancing with two girls: Harriet and Lorna. Both girls had lovely chocolate colored skin, but Thomas didnt even notice. He barely felt the beat pulsing through the club. He was that stoned.
At about 2:30, Thomas stumbled out the back door into the alley way. He couldnt remember why hed gone out the back instead of the front. He tried to stumble his way to his car but suddenly stopped.
The hair on the back of his neck stood up. He slowly turned around in time to see a black shadow whipping out of the corner of his eye. Thomas, nerves half numb, panicked.
He threw down the coat hed been carried and turned a slow circle in the alley way.
Come out here you
spirit bastard! Thomas shouted drunkenly. There was a soft chuckle. Then, it hit him.
Thomas was thrown onto his back on the hard ground. He screamed as he felt the oddest sensation of his life. Pain was coursing through his stomach. Then, it felt like snakes were trailing through his blood stream until it reached his brain. Then, blackness overcame his vision and a cold chill swept his body. The last thing he heard was, Stupid human, you invited me in
Thomas woke up hours later, got up and walked to his car. He was unusually calm and sober. He tranquilly hit the ignition and drove home. He even almost went the speed limit.
